Nearly two-dozen middle schoolers named to spots on a prestigious choir in North Texas.
32 Decatur middle schoolers auditioned for the All-Region Choir, which is similar to an All-Star choir consisting of top student vocalists from throughout the region. The students spent weeks learning and preparing the music - both inside and outside of the choir classroom. From there, students were required to sing by themselves in front of a pen of judges.
"Over 300 students from all over the region auditioned for the elite 90 voice choir, and we boast 22 members from Decatur," said Clare Yurasek, McCarroll Middle School Choir Teacher. "I am honored to work with such amazing students! and want to encourage our community to congratulate these kiddos for this achievement when you see them around."
